Prof. Atoyebi is a Medical Practitioner with specialization in General Surgery. Dr. Atoyebi qualified as a Medical Practitioner in 1977 from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, where he bagged MBBS with distinction. He subsequently obtained Fellowship of the Nigerian Post – Graduate Medical College in Surgery (FMCS) and the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in 1990. He has been Secretary – General of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
He is a past President, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and also a past Secretary – General of the West African Society of Gastroenterology (WASOG). A widely traveled Surgeon and published Author. He is the immediate past College Registrar, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN). Professor Atoyebi is now back at the College of Medicine, the University of Lagos, Department of Surgery in the General Surgery and Gastroenterology Unit and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) as Honourary Consultant in General Surgery and Surgical Gastroenterology.
